AI West ("we," "our," or "us") builds AI-powered software products. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information across our products and services, including Freed, Resonance, and any other applications we operate.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (securely hashed). We may also collect your name if you provide it.

Financial Data (Freed)

If you use Freed and connect your bank account through Stripe Financial Connections, we access:

• Transaction history (descriptions, amounts, dates)
• Account balances
• Account type and institution name

We do not access your bank login credentials. Stripe handles all bank authentication directly. You can disconnect your bank account at any time.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage data such as which features you use, screen views, and general interaction patterns to improve our products.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve our products and services
• Process transactions and manage your account
• Generate personalized insights and recommendations using AI
• Send you relevant notifications about your account or product updates
• Respond to your requests and provide customer support

AI Processing

Our products use AI models (including Anthropic Claude and others) to power features like transaction categorization, content generation, and personalized insights.

• AI processing is designed to minimize personally identifiable information
• We do not use your data to train third-party AI models
• Financial data sent to AI models is anonymized (e.g., only merchant names, never amounts or account numbers)

Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored in the United States
• Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• We use industry-standard security practices and trusted infrastructure providers (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel)
• Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel only

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services across our products:

• Stripe — payment processing and bank account linking (Financial Connections)
• Supabase — database, authentication, and serverless functions
• Anthropic — AI-powered features
• Vercel — web hosting
• Expo — mobile app delivery and push notifications

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your Rights

• Access: You can request a copy of your data at any time
• Correct: You can update your information in the app or by contacting us
• Delete: You can request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Disconnect: You can disconnect linked accounts (e.g., bank accounts) at any time
• Opt out: You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data within 30 days, except where required by law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the app or via email.
